Questions

Before you choose

What counts as storage?

The files of your published decks: the built HTML, scripts, styles, images and video. A file shared by several versions of a deck is stored once and counted once. Exports you keep on your own machine and the engine itself never count.

What happens if I downgrade or cancel?

You keep the paid plan until the end of the period you paid for, then move to Free. Nothing is deleted: decks over a Free limit stay published and readable, but you can't publish new versions of them until the workspace is back under the limit or on a paid plan again.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Your first payment for any plan is refundable in full within 30 days, and an annual renewal within 14 days of renewing. The refund policy has the details.

Who handles payments and taxes?

Paddle.com is our merchant of record: it sells the subscription to you, takes the payment, works out and collects the sales tax or VAT for your country, and sends your invoice. Prices are in US dollars and already include any sales tax or VAT: what you see is what you pay.

Is there a discount for students or teachers?

The Free plan is meant for classrooms: public decks and a live room for 25 people. If you teach larger classes and the price is in the way, write to us and we will sort something out.

Is self-hosting really free?

Yes. The engine is open source under the AGPL: present from your laptop, publish to any static host, and run your own live room on your own Cloudflare account, at no cost and with no account here.

We want to build a product on the engine. Do we need a licence?

Only if you run a modified engine as a network service and don't want to publish your changes, which is what the AGPL requires. A commercial licence removes that obligation — write to us.
